Today is Canada's National Day - greetings to all Canadians, Canadian Latvians and Latvian Canadians!
Our countries and peoples are united by a special bond. For many Latvians, Canada became a safe haven for Latvia in difficult times after World War II. Today, many have returned to Latvia and are actively participating in strengthening cooperation between our countries, businesses and societies.
And one such initiative is the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, which I have the honor to congratulate today on its 25th anniversary!
A huge thank you to Ed Kalvins one of the active Latvians in Canada, who has dedicated his strength and energy not only to preserving Latvian culture in Canada, but also to promoting the Latvian investment environment and strengthening Latvian-Canadian relations here in Latvia! Thank you for your enthusiasm, energy and inspiration!
Thank you to Canada for your leadership in leading the NATO multinational brigade in Latvia, which makes a great contribution to the security of our country!
Latvia and Canada are partners united by democracy, human rights, the rule of law, and a rules-based international order!
Happy Canada Day!
