CanCham kicked off the new business season with an informal CanCham Corner on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at 18.30 at the Tinto “Wine Library”, Elizabetes 59, Riga.

The CanCham Corner is intended as a relaxed social and networking event, giving Canadians, CanCham members, friends, partners and guests an opportunity to meet, renew contacts and spend time together in an informal atmosphere.

The event attracted a strong response, with 35 participants registered by the evening before the event. The mix included CanCham members and representatives of a broad range of organizations, together with guests and potential members. As with previous CanCham Corners, the presence of new faces provided a good opportunity for introductions and informal discussions.

Tinto once again provided an appropriate setting for the event. Its “Wine Library” offers Canadian wines among its selection, as well as beer on tap, allowing participants to enjoy the evening according to their own preferences while networking in a relaxed environment.

The evening also provided an opportunity to update participants on CanCham activities planned for the coming business season. Topics included communication with Task Force Latvia and Defence Construction Canada, the TFL procurement seminar planned for November 2nd and a DCC seminar planned for March, progress with CanCham’s Strategic Partnership Initiative and related funding, the Show & Tell event on September 28th, the upcoming Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner on October 12th, and preparations for the AGM and elections early next year.

The CanCham Corner provided a useful and informal start to the autumn business season, allowing members, partners and guests to reconnect after the summer and to become acquainted with some of the new participants in the CanCham community.

CanCham looks forward to an active autumn program and encourages members and friends to continue participating in upcoming events and initiatives.
