Report on the New Year’s CanCham Corner on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at 18.30 at the Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel

We kicked off the new year with a very informal New Year’s CanCham Corner on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for our members and friends to meet with Board members and discuss plans for the months ahead, in the cozy and welcoming surroundings of the Harper Woolf Lounge. It was also a great chance for everyone to reconnect and wish one another all the best for 2026.

Next on the agenda is our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday, January 26, where the focus will be on the actions CanCham will take to officially launch its Strategic Partnership Initiative—aimed at attracting Canadian business to our region and promoting our members’ activities and objectives. This will be followed by a procurement seminar with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), which is leading an ambitious Canadian military and infrastructure investment program in support of Task Force Latvia (TFL). DCC is a Crown corporation of the Government of Canada that delivers infrastructure and environmental projects for the defence of Canada. The seminar will help DCC representatives identify potential contractors and suppliers whose services may be required.

Looking further ahead, we will mark International Women’s Day with a special event titled “Women in the Military” on Monday, March 19.
